Research

Recently, I completed a PhD at the University of the Sunshine Coast and Queensland Academy of Sport. The research I’ve been involved in focused on Adjustment Disorder in high level athletes. As this project is wrapping up, the outcomes and findings are becoming available.

The first main outcome is a screening instrument, the Adjustment Disorder New Module – Athlete (ADNMA). The instrument (pdf available below) can be used by (sport)psychologists, physicians and other support staff involved in athlete wellbeing, to assess an athlete’s levels of maladjustment to one or multiple stressors. Please note that this is a screening instrument, it does not replace diagnosis or treatment by a mental health professional.

A journal publication outlining the design of this instrument is currently under review.
